Eligibility Requirements
Closed
Categories
(Bronze, Silver & Gold):
The NDCA syllabus is
used for all closed categories. A student may only enter two dance
levels. Example: If you are entered in Bronze,
you may dance all
Bronze & Silver levels, but may not enter Gold or Gold Star.
DCT Newcomer
Scholarships
These
scholarships are
for students who have had a TOTAL of less than 50 hours of lessons and
who have not competed in a previous Heart of America Championship.
Pro/Am Scholarships:
A student may enter
only 1 age level in each style
A student may NOT enter both the Closed
& Open Scholarship
Closed
Scholarships:
To qualify for these events, the student must dance
the same dances,
levels and ages in single dance events (Bronze or Silver). These events
are Closed to Bronze or Silver material. A student may
enter only in the highest level of their single dances and only one age
level.
Pro/Am "Carroll
Shaw" Closed 9-Dance Scholarship:
This scholarship
was created in honor of Carroll Shaw, a long time competitor and coach
in the Kansas City area.
Open
Scholarships:
To enter these events, the student must dance the
same dances, level
and ages in single dance events (Gold or Gold Star). A student may ONLY
enter one age level in each style. A student may NOT enter both
the Closed & Open Scholarships.
DCT "Pink Ribbon"
Scholarship:
The Open Rhythm
Scholarship is designated as the "Pink Ribbon" scholarship. All
entry fees will be donated to the "Touched by
Cancer Foundation."
In addition, there will be a silent auction of various
items, one of
which will be the opportunity to guest judge the Open Professional
Rhythm event. All auction proceeds will be
donated to the
"Touched by Cancer Foundation." Additional tax deductible
contributions will be accepted, payable to "Touched by Cancer
Foundation."
Juvenile
& Pre-Teen Clothing Restrictions
Juvenile &
Pre-Teen
competitors are restricted in their costuming as per the NDCA rule

Package prices are
wholesale only and do not include the services offered by a studio or
individual instructor. Please make your reservations as soon as
possible. Room availability cannot be guaranteed after the

Professional competitors
and Pro/Am teachers must be registered annually with the NDCA.
The registration fee for each year is $50.00 and should be sent
